    hi,
    I've got a 720 X 480 mpg2 video (recorded by a sony dv cam)
    sent to me. I converted with tmpeg, authored with vcdImager
    burned it with fireburner and it still looks like a crappy vcd ..
    does any one know how to make it look as good as a teg vcd

    (I know its not the source cause it makes a great dvd)

    Try using TMPGEnc to do the encoding to VCD standard Mpeg1 file. The templates are pretty good at giving quite good results.

    I've found that de-interlacing (using just one field) helps lots.
