I live in NYC and I need to downsize my system, and also increase my work flow speed since I need to also transfer the VHS tapes to get rid of them and make more room.

I am looking to replace my TBC-1000 with a TBC-3000, primarily because I am sick of using big switch boxes and extra cables to switch between my JVC 9600 and my Panny 1980 when testing to see which tape plays better in which deck. It also seems that the switch boxes I am using are adding noise as well. I have read this post below:

    https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/324154-Datavideo-TBC3000-vs-TBC1000

It is from 2005, I was hoping if any one else can speak of any other issues from the TBC-3000 recently. Or if everyone might recommend that I stick with the TBC-1000 due to the potential pixel issues. The 2 source input is my primary reason for looking at the TBC-3000 however if it has additional issues that the TBC-1000 doesn't have then I will stick with that.

Also my BVP-4+ seems to need some adjusting, the split screen divider does not go all the way to the left out of frame. I am sure I can fix it. However I am also considering packing away this unit along with my dr-1000, CRT Sony Monitor, and DVD recorder to save room (or possibly buying the much smaller PA-100). I am considering moving strictly to streaming to my PC using my ADV-300 (with all those over processed filters shut off), and using Sony Vegas color correction tools (somewhat limited but decent enough it seems for VHS).

From a time perspective transferring to my PC as opposed to my DMR-EZ28 does seem to have better quality with slightly more work time, however it is not as quick as recording directly to DVD.
As for the monitor, I am told that my PC monitor will work just fine for the type of color correcting I do. However the AE's/tech nerds I work with seem to say other wise, but the monitor it is huge and would open up alot of room for me if I could gather the courage to get rid of it and use some nice PC monitors (color calibration software possibly?)

I think at this point I know the answer but I seem to be seeking the courage and for someone to pat me on the back and tell me that life without a proc amp, DR-1000, CRT Monitor and DVD recorder can go on with just using a PC.
I know I have thrown alot out there, I am just looking for some opinions and advice.

Thanks for the link it was very helpful. It has made me think about switching to a nice IPS monitor that I can use for both regular PC use and Video work. It will save alot of space and extra cables. Correct me if I am wrong but It seems like that should be sufficient for the type of work I am doing.
