Renaming AVCHD file using timestamp

I know each AVCHD file has a timestamp. Is there any software that will allow me to rename the file to sth. like yymmdd_hhmmss (WinDV does it for capture)?

It looks like Canon does not write EXIF to the MTS file. Instead, the media information is in CPI files in another folder. Does anyone have tool to read it?

Have a look at the Batch processing tools in DVMP Pro. It does not need the CPI or other sidecar files - it just uses the MTS or M2TS file.
