  1. I have an LG DVX492H DVD player which I purchased and made multi regional last year. I recently purchased an LG 32LD320 32" TV and when I connected the DVD player it seems to have re-set itself to Region 2 and no amount of attempting to re-apply the multi-region hack seems to be making the difference.

Any ideas what, if anything, I can do?

It's not possible for the TV to do anything to reset your DVD player.

Did you or someone else apply a firmware update to the DVD player? That can break hacks that worked in the past.

  3. Nope, the only change was the tv as i'd previously had it plugged into my old Bush tv and the player was playing both my region 1 and region 2 dvd's. Now I've got the LG tv it won't let me play the region 1 dvd's at all.

Is the player giving you a warning message of any kind?

Did you disconnect the LG DVD player from electrical power during the move? While that shouldn't be a problem, maybe the player got damaged somehow while doing that or maybe the hack does not preserve in firmware and losing power undoes it. That would not necessarily explain why you can't redo the hack now though.

Was this player connected to the internet somehow? Some BluRay players have been known to update their own firmware without the owner's knowledge. I suppose that could be possible with a DVD player too.

Might be interesting to reconnect the player to the Bush TV and see if it's still region free or not. If it is, maybe region free doesn't preserve through the type of connection you have to the LG TV.
