do not convert dts to ac3
I'm doing blu-ray to BD9. In settings I checked the box "do not convert dts to ac3". When BD-RB gets to "Reencoding audio tracks (if req'd)", I get windows message "wavi.exe has stopped working" and BD-RB stops working. When I close the windows message BD-RB starts working again and there are no error messages in the BD-RB log. The build is set to use LPCM only.
What is causing wavi.exe to stop? Is it my settings or something else?

  2. Does the same thing happen when you *UN-check* the "do not convert dts to ac3" box? Personally, I question the wisdom of keeping dts on a BD9, it takes considerably more space that could be used to preserve video quality. That's come up before here and yes, it can be done, but it's not part of the AVCHD spec. Do you have "strict AVCHD" checked?

Anyway, since you asked this question on the BDRB bug report thread, perhaps you should post the .avs file and name of the movie there, as jdobbs requested.

    Good luck.

It still does it when I uncheck the box. The finished BD9 plays fine it only has DD 2.0 for sound. I don't have strict AVCHD checked.

It seems to do it only when the original file is LPCM, When the original file is AC3 it doesn't do it.

I take that to mean that it's not just the Dave Matthews disc then? That would tend to eliminate a dodgy authoring job as the cause, or something untoward in the audio track, I've come across a number of those.

Can you try the last version of BDRB before the one you're using? Sometimes it seems that one problem gets fixed and something else breaks. That's why BDRB is beta, and that's not a criticism, as I've been using BDRB since the earliest versions.

No doubt jdobbs will have a real answer for you before too long, better than my guesses.

I fixed it by uninstalling K-Lite codec pack.

  8. yes i noticed this codec pack also brought its own problems the way to fix it was on install go through the options and select associate all video files and audio files to open with media classic player which is installed with the codec pack
