Hi,
I want to transfer my *.tod files (JVC GZ-HD 30 Camcorder, Full HD MPEG 2 TS) to Bluray Disk. I have two different programs: Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 and Cyberlink PowerDirector 8. While I like the user interface of Vegas very much, only Powerdirector is able to use smart rendering for the video stream. The audio stream has to be converted anyway (MPEG 1 Layer 2 to AC-3). Vegas can use smart rendering only with a few number of file types (DV-AVI).
Do you know other programs that have a professional user interface like Vegas, but can use smart rendering with Full HD MPEG2 files?

HDV is listed, but is only 1440 x 1080. My files are 1920 x 1080 (Full HD). I will try to change the camcorder's settings, because is supports a HDV compatible mode. If that works, I will record at 1440 x 1080 in future. But that is no solution for my actual problem.

I have used exactly these project settings. No success.
I have tried Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum instead. Same poor result. -

When I change the project settings to „HDV“ and change the resolution to 1920 x 1080, Vegas automatically switches to the template „HD 1920 x 1080 25i“.
I have noticed that the rendering time is a bit shorter, if I set the deinterlace method to “none”. I have used “blend fields” when changing the resolution to DVD, because Vegas needed that setting for downsizing. -
Hi everyone, sorry for bringing up something abit old here, but I am having abit of a problem with trying to do some Smart Rendering with Premiere Pro CS3 with the MPEG Pro HD 4 plugin.
I have tried everything I cant seem to get any export to do 'Smart Rendering' all the options are wanting me to re-encode, I dont even know if 'Smart Rendering' is even an option or like a tick box in here, does anyone else have this similar issue? -
not sure cs3 did any smart rendering at all. it might have been added in cs4. cs3 definitely didn't smart render mpeg-4.
[edit] if you mean the $160 mainconcpet plugin, then yes it says it does but how you get it to work i don't know. i've never had much luck with cs3/4/5 plugins.Last edited by aedipuss; 19th Jan 2011 at 17:09.

even with the MPEG Pro HD 4 plugin? I'm pretty sure it was made to do so with the plugin installed, it even confirmed it with me, because when I was trying the settings with Auto GOP enabled, the summary window says:
Warning: MPEG Auto GOP feature enabled!
Warning: To enable Smart Rendering set Auto GOP = OFF!
a little help?
