I haven't used the Hauppauge HVR1800 since buying the Hauppauge HD-PVR 1212 a few months ago. I decided to reinstall the WinTV 6 software and scan the channels a couple of days ago. The analog channels play fine and the video on the QAM channels plays fine but there is no audio. When I go into audio settings, it's set to Win TV Wave and advanced audio is grayed out. I tried setting audio to everthing other than Win TV Wave but I still get no audio on QAM channels. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be on Win TV Wave but no audio on QAM channels, just analog cable and VCR.
I don't know if COX screwed up the QAM channels in Phoenix or if it's a software or driver problem. I can't update the software because Hauppauge asks for the original CD and when I use either of the ones from the two cards that I bought, they tell me that they are only driver disks and don't have WinTV on them even though that's how I installed the WinTV software so I can't upgrade the software.
