Hello, I have a problem that is very strange. When I make an AVCHD disc from mkv files in 720p with Ts Muxer and IMG burn when played on my Oppo Blu Ray Player the picture is quite broken up into digital squares. When I play the file with AVS Video Player either from the original MKV or after conversion from the Stream file in the BD folder I have just created it works fine l. It appears to go wrong in the burning. Not every one of the discs has been bad, but most are, and it happens with PAL HD & NTSC HD . These woulkd be files dowbloaded from Torrent sites if that make any difference. I am using Windows XP , 3gb RAM

    Thanks
    Derek

Not sure about your specific case, but you might have similar issues to me. I have a Momitsu BluRay player and for the first time I recently used tsmuxer to make an AVCHD disc from 720p video. I've made such discs from 1080i/p files before with no problems. My player just barfed on the disc. It did try to play the disc, but it struggled mightily trying to display the video and it was completely unwatchable. Probably my player can't play 720p AVCHD discs. Maybe it's the same for Oppo.

Interesting thought. It's funny the very first show I did worked perfectly, now almost every one breaks up

  4. oppo players aren't fully spec compliant for weighted p frame prediction (which is a feature of blu-ray, h264 encoding). They need a firmware update

In the meanwhile you can encode disabling weightp . I suspect the recent ones that exhibit the problem probably have weightp enabled

Great, I will get the firmware update. So disabling this p frame (which I am not familiar with) is this done on TS Muxer or Img Burn ?

  6. afaik, oppo hasn't released it yet. There were people complaining in other forums

weightp is an encoding setting, so you would have to re-encode the file (e.g you could use multiavchd or avchdcoder)
