    I converted a source video into two formats , flv and avi

    Just for demonstration that the quality loss is very minor and negligible. Comparing the videos side by side I find the videos to be quite the same. Can someone also check this for me?

    FLV and AVI are containers. That has very little to do with what's inside them.

    I wouldn't expect to see much difference between Xvid at ~1500 kbps and h.264 at 1200 kbps.
