Easiest question ever - jpg+mp3=video. (for youtube)

I'm getting really short on nerves here, having tried a bunch of programs..

I need a program for the most simple task in the history of videomaking - jpg+mp3=video. (for youtube)

1 static picture, no effects, looking crystal clear, and an mp3 playing. That's it.

I tried the following:

uMusic, it's basically what I'm looking for, but it doesn't work on x64.

Win Movie Maker - it doesn't let me set the funking video size. Custom profiles for some reason don't work.

After Effects is a goliath who unfortunately sucks at trivial tasks such as static imagery, with blocks all over the place, and I really wanna keep the filesize small, an 80mb file for a single picture is ridiculous. (tried a lot of codec combos with no good result)

MemoriesOnTV it for some reason shrinks and blurs the image, absolutely zero options for improving quality.

Premiere - used to have it before, but like AE, it's a giant and all I need is someting that takes a minute to encode.


So, yeah. Help out, fellow pixel bashers, I beg thee

Oh, there's already a thread with the same question about this.

VDub and DVD slideshow GUI were dropped there. If you got any more suggestions, they're welcome.

My, aren't we impatient with Premiere and After Effects. Whatever tool you use (and I see you haven't tried VirtualDub yet), there will always need to be a little bit of encoding time.

I'm fine with that if it's absolutely necessary, what I'm not fine with is the bad quality even with bitrates such as 3K, and large filesizes.

Fiddling with mr. Dub as we speak
He's an old friend, but we never got to sit and chat properly. That's something I'm gonna correct now.


Edit - mr. VirtualDub and I are now soulmates. A near- zero second encoding time, 8mb filesize, no codec fiddling necessary.

NB. DSG needs miminumt two images - but you can just copy the image you want to use twice.
