m4v to dvd

Hi folks
I have a file which has the ext .m4v, how would members here go about converting to DVD?

did you check the tools section? try under all in one dvd converters. maybe avstodvd might work for you.

Thanks for the help but avs to dvd is not gonna cut it.I cant find anything under the tools section. I need advice.

If you don't mind using AviSynth, you could get AviSynth to open the file, do any conversions if necessary, and then pass that on to HCEnc (it's free) to encode it to DVD format.

m4v is just an mp4 file. Try renaming the extension to mp4 and then put through your favorite converting program.

if you can't figure out the free avstodvd then maybe try the film machine. or buy convertxtodvd.

What is the source of this file ? 4mv is often used by iTunes, which could mean that it is copy protected and may require something like tunebite instead of the standard tools.

Nice blanket statement, but I would like to see it backed up with a reason. AVStoDVD handles most cases, and uses avisynth for loading. You can modify the scripts to get around most issues if necessary.

So why are you so emphatic that AVStoDVD "is not gonna cut it" ?
