Compatibility is about the same. Write speeds are the same. I don't see how since -R is already established. You've been reading to much of the hype on DVDPLUSRW.ORG site.

By hype, do you mean lies? Or just your "sour grapes" view? +R does have advantages. We'll see. Give it a year.

I'm still waiting to see the advantages of dvd+rw... Lower compatibility with actual dvd player's is not a plus... they keep on saying future dvd players will be more compatible with the format... we'll have to see... in the Futur

The only possible advantages is improved compatibility with existing/old DVD players and lower price.
Unless it does both, there isn't really much improvement as a PC drive (over exisitng DVD-R/W) is there?
