Well, I was a PowerDVD user until I found it could not play SVCD's and winDVD could. So now I have both loaded and use WinDVD more due to being able to play SVCD's. I don't know why PowerDVD can't ??? Hmmmmmmm.

  7. PowerDVD lets you capture .bmp files from any dvd, will play .vob files off the hard drive, and well, just looks better. Version 4.0 is the latest and greatest.

How can you make screenshots with PowerDVD 4.0 XP ? On my player, the option is greyed, allthough with PowerDVD 3.0 they work.
Screenshots with WinDVD work. Any help is appreciated.

Dragonsf, just press the C- key to capture a frame with PowerDVD (if you use WinDVD press P-key).
Well, I just use a software dvd player to unlock the drive or preview a svcd image. Both WinDVD3 and PowerDVD4XP play SVCD, multiple audio, menus. Both have a capture option. Non of them play SVCD or CVD subtitles. So I can not see a major difference.

That's the problem with my PowerDVD: pressing of the C-Key doesn't work, but I can stup the settings for screen-shots.
But anyhow, I can't see any essential difference between both players too.
Both can pass AC3 digital through, both can play Dragon's lair (PowerDVD 3 couldn't).Pictures on both are clear.
But I think WinDVD is a littel better with SVCDs (menus et. al.) than PowerDVD, but I've to install the latest patch.
