Change Quicktime Aspect Ratio without re converting

I am on XP & is this possible ? Basically I want to take trailers & make them full screen for iPad etc

if you only change the aspect ratio, the ipad will playback the clips stretched,... -> sounds like a bad idea
That aside Quicktime pro should be able set the crop&scale flags the mov container allows, see: http://www.designtalkboard.com/tips/web/crop-quicktime-movie.php
(not sure if iPad supports this, but since mov is an apple container it should,..)
