I have a video AVI 300MB that is in RAR archive but when I extract it, it doesnt extract fully and it is not because the the download wasnt complete or things like that. When I try to extract it, it reaches 90% and displays an error. The extracted file is 290MB out of 300MB but it cant be read by any player. I tried converting with No1VideoConverter, Video Edit Magic, VirtualDub, all do not recognize it as a video file (cant open the AVI file). I also tried some fixing programs like Digital Video Repair, Fix Player, DivFix, 7 Zip software, Dziobas Rar Player. Id eventually even watch slideshow but extracting pictures also doesnt work. The video cant be opened by any of these programs. Any way to open a not fully extracted video?

I've tried that one too, all programs are the same, it wont do. Some way to open an unfully extracted video? It is 291 out of 300 MB, almost complete but dont know what RAR is doing that it wont open it .

  3. Try using GSpot and MediaInfo. See if they can determine anything about the video -- container, frame size, frame rate, codecs, etc. If not, it's pretty hopeless.

Obviously things didn't download correctly, or if they did, then the source RAR files are corrupt. Winrar will tell you which file it can't open or extract, and you can try downloading that file again.

It was uploaded that way intentionally by the copyright holder of the material and now they have your IP address.

Nice trolling. Why post if nothing useful to say and dont even know what it is about?
The movie is a tutorial for a program posted by long gone inactive member... not a © movie.

How did you download the file?
If using Utorrent right click the torrent in the top window and select "Force Re-check" this will verify the files downloaded and if found corrupt redownload the offending parts

  9. is there a recovery record in the rar file? if so you can repair it with winrar

the error message will tell which rar file is affected , and you can rebuild it

have other users been successful ?

I think you underestimate hech54's value in keeping forum discussions animated and entertaining. How boring this site would be without him to stir up a stink now and then. Besides, a vast number of .avi downloaders are doing something they really shouldn't do (though you may be an exception), and he's not out of line in questioning it.

P.S. -- I apologize for not having anything useful to contribute to this thread, other than keeping it active.
