Okay,
I''m trying every combination I can think of. I keep getting "cannot play format" for some files when ripping to mpg. I stream from TVersity with transcoding on.
I have DVDFab, Shrink, VobtoMPG, AnyVideoConverter.
I have a new HD LCd coming in (won it via Xbox sweepstakes - yes you do win those things).
I do one of 2 thing:
1) rip from dvdto HDD using DVDFab, then to single VOB with DVD (DVD to Mobile Vob passthrough). Rename file to .mpg.
results in single mpg about 3-5 gb
Or
2) Rip from DVD to HDD using DVDFab, then to main movie using DVDFab, then AnyVideoConverter. Results in a single mpg about 1.5gb.
What is best logical path to rip from DVD into a high quality file format so I can stream from TVersity to the XBox.. Why Tversity won't transcode, I don't know..
All I'm doing is getting frustrated as many rips are in incompatible format.... A now i want the highest quality with the new TV coming in..
To save time and frustration, what would be the best path? I don't use Win MC as I use SageTV to record.
Any guidance would be appreciated..
Brett
