  1. I have been searching for a while, and haven't found this problem listed, so I thought I would ask.
Mods may delete this if I just overlooked it, and apologies in advance.

I have the DVP3982-37, Region 1, USA model, no modifications or hacks or upgrades from Philips.
It plays fine, except for long AVI's.
It seems that an AVI over 1 hour, 30 minutes will just stop around the 1:45:00 mark, or maybe make it to 1:51:00.

It seems to happen only with ISO MPEG4 XVID files, according to GSpot, with PVOP and VBOP.

The file plays fine on the PC, but when burnt to a DVD (several media names), the Philips only plays it for the above amount of time, then just stops and goes back to the menu. None of the files are over 1.4 GIG in size.

Other shorter files (~700 MB but all less than 1.5 hours) on DVD or CD-R play just fine.
I am at a loss to figure this out, and would appreciate any advice.
    Thank you.

Try running divxfix on them and see if the problem goes away.
