Kodak IZ8 purchase

I am looking for a a video editing software that would work with the movies I am taking with the new purchase of the kodak IZ8 The ArchSoft the video comes with is very limited and I tried to use windows Live movie maker but it did not work.

I understand that the extensions of teh movies are .mov but it would take me too much time to convert them etc.

Please help I am stuck with my project.

I assume you mean ZI8, not IZ8. Supposedly, that puts out QuickTime MPEG-4 MOV files, using H.264 compression. Windows Movie Maker is not going to handle that codec. Try a demo of the Sony Vegas editor to see if it will handle the video. Actually, you might want to first try AviDemux.
