  1. 1)Ok, there is a one hour TV program on that I want to record using my ATI Multimedia Center 7.1 When it is done I want to burn it as an SVCD. What settings do I use when I create a Custom Setting? I read somewhere about having to tweak the settings using The MMC tweaking tool. Is that required and why? Why doesn't ATI have this allready as a preset? Don't they think know about SVCD's?

    2) What if I want to record a longer program? Can't I just settle for slightly lower settings and still get it all on an CD? I'm not all that interested in playing it on stand alone DVD players. I think I'll always have a computer to play it. I just don't want to go through 7 steps and 6 hours to do it. I want to use CD's like video tapes (they take up much less room)

  2. Hello,
    I have the ATI AIW Radeon with MMC71. For SVCD I created a custom template with the following settings...
    Mpeg NTSC 525
    480x480
    44.1KHz 16 bit Stereo
    MPEG-2 Deinterlacing Visual Masking
    P Frames=4, B Frames=2
    Variable Bit Rate 2.03 MBit/Sec
    Motion Estimation 75
    Horizontal=32 Vertical=16

    After recording a one hour program, I pull out the commercials with MPeg2VCR, then burn with Nero 5.5
    Plays in my Philips DVD711 set-top player.
    Hope this helps!
