    NiHao!
yep, I'm trying to learn Mandarin!
Over and above the lessons I would like to watch some chinese movies/series with Simplified Chinese subtitles on my ipod touch.
My existing movies/series with subs have the subs at the bottom.

Naturally I often need to pause the movie to catch up on the chinese subs !

What happens on an ipod/touch when you touch the screen?
That !@#$!@#$d control bar pops up right on top of the subtitles!!

So, for the new movies I convert, I would like to create mp4 with SUPtitles.

Anyone know how to select the Y position for subs?

    thanks / xiexie nimen!

You could try Any video converter, it the edit tab you can select options and there is a subtitle position adjuster function and you can simply move this to the top of the screen, it may take you a few goes to get it perfect but it'll work and doesn't take to long to encode.
I used this program all the time but did like the fact that they add black boarders on the top and bottom for the subs but this may benefit you because you'll beable to see them more clearly.

    hope this help.
