Does anyone have an LED-backlit monitor yet, and what do you think of them compared to previous LCDs?
I am looking at 21 to 23-inch wide screen LCD monitors to replace my 7-year-old 17-inch CRT monitor, which has become too dim to provide decent contrast with some things. It's not urgent yet, but it's definitely time to start shopping. I don't want a professional quality display, since this is just for home use. I'm not a gamer, but I do watch video using my monitor.
I would like one with HDCP support and 1920x1080 resolution, so I can play BD video some day, but that is not essential. My PC has HDMI, D-Sub and DVI-D connections available. My budget is around $200. I am interested in getting a monitor with LED backlighting instead of cold cathode flourescent, because LEDs are supposed to last longer and use less electricity. Relatively few are currently available, but ASUS, Samsung, LG, Acer, and MAG all have at least one model that fulfils at least some of my wants.
I am leaning towards this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236075
but this one also seems OK http://www.directron.com/gml2226.html?gsear=1
...and there is this one, although the resolution is lower http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16824005133
If LED backlighting is not yet worthwhile, this is what I have been looking at, and it can be purchased locally at a comparable price to NewEgg's: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001308&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_m...UNG-_-24001308
Any thoughts on these monitors?

Never mind. The eyestrain from using a CRT monitor that is on its last legs was too much for me and I chose instant gratification over technological sophistication. Tonight I bought a non-LED Samsung 2233SW at a local store that has a better return policy and a lower price for that monitor than NewEgg's. Ahhh relief!

I got it for $219 with a 10% Staples added discount coupon but then there was sales tax and the CA $16 recycle fee. Altogether California took 16% as tax
