I downloaded a bunch of HD video which is in mkv, im not really famillar with this container, and my dvd making program (ulead dvd movie factory) doesnt recognize it.

how can i convert it to another format without losing any quality?
is there a way to just turn it into Mp4 without re encoding, since that is the actual codec inside?

SUPER says that it is Format: MK , 3569 Kbps,
    Video #0: codec: Mpeg-4 AVC
    Audio#0: codec AC#

    thanks for your help

You can try the payware ConvertXToDVD. It does a decent job of converting my MKVs to DVD format. There are some freeware converters in our 'Tools' section also you could try. https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/all-in-one-dvd-converters FAVC and DVDflick are popular freeware converters.

And you will likely lose some quality if you do any conversion. You may be able to extract the MPEG-4, but you would still have to convert it if you wanted to play it on most set top players.

And MediaInfo will give you a lot more information about the MKV files.
