Ijust bought a acer revo 1600 with a HDMI out and xp op system.i have hooked the cord up to the tv from the computer with no luck.i have searched the computer files looking for any thing that might have any thing to do with the HDMI again no luck,i thought when i bought this it would be as easy as hooking up the vga monotor did not happen. i hope i have come to the right place?i have tryed other support sights with no luck.i have tryed the acer online manual nothing about HDMI in it.i tryed calling acer tec support but since they did not put the seral number on the computer i can call them.i am left to try to figure this out with the help from sights like this.the help that i have received so far has been great. people have realy done every thing they knew to help with no luck. if ther is any one that thinks they have an ideal please give it a try i have nothing to lose and every thing to gain if i can get this to work.i ;ike to watch online tv and movies with my nephew and it would be great to watch on my 47 in tv.thanke for any help.

Look under the display settings in control panel. You might need to hook it up to a normal vga monitor before trying to use the hdmi connection... Good Luck

That netbook could be defective. Return it and get another one. I read some reviews on it from newegg and someone had the same problem as you.

I have a Sony laptop, its about 7-8 months old. All this time, I have been burning my movies to disk, then this bright idea struck me right between the eyes. Why not, since the computer has a HDMI port, hook it up to my 57 inch HDTV which has two HDMI ports. It works beautiful. I have spent enough money on dvd's to have bought a dozen HDMI cables
I hope this helps someone else that may can do the same thing.

If your computer is able to send sound over the HDMI cable, then you probably need to go to your 'Sound' settings in 'Control Panels' and enable it. My laptop doesn't have HDMI, but with my desktop PC, there is a selection there for 'Digital Audio (HDMI)'.

With most TVs/Monitors with a HDMI input being used, HDMI audio would also be selected automatically if it's available.

Sorry, budz, but you shouldn't be so cynical. My post didn't have anything to do with the original poster, and sorry if I offended you with my dumb statement earlier. Also, I'm sorry for the confusion I may have caused.
