Is there an easy to use program to cut/trim/edit .ts-files recorded on a Dreambox 8000? I want to cut unwanted parts of the ecording and keep the file as is. Or maybe also be able to convert it to DivX or something?

I use ProjectX to demux TS files and then edit them with Mpeg2Schnitt before authoring to DVD Video (GUI for DVDAuthor) or converting to xvid (VirtualdubMod).

There's a thread with further discussion here: http://club.myce.com/f34/how-do-i-edit-ts-file-207338/.

    Hi nordic45,

It all depends what is inside the .ts. Ideally you want a smart editor to edit your stream which will not re-encode everything.

If it's H.264 then TSPE will edit it.

If it's MPEG2 then TSPE and a whole load of other editors will be able to edit it to varying degrees of success.

TSPE will let you know exactly what is inside the stream so from there you can make a decision on which editor to use if TSPE does not already meet your requirements.

There are some freeware editors out there which you could try but it all depends on what is inside your .ts and how well the editor can handle the contents.

Of course searching VideoHelp will help considerably!

    Regards,

    Vent

I use the editing function within ProjectX to edit and demux in the same step and then author DVD with GUI for dvdauthor. This works with MPEG-2 ts files at standard resolution.
