Hi, I'm new to this forum and video capture in general. I'm thinking of capturing videos from VHS into DVD format. Can you guys recommend a good VCR and capture card to use? I have a pretty good system. I have a 2.2ghz P4 with 512MB of memory and 2 100gb HD in RAID stripe 0. Thanks in advance for any comments or inputs.

If you want really prodessional looking DVD then you need a hardware based MPEG cature card. For home use you can play with any ATI AIW card to get AVI capture in Highest resolutions and then convert it using TMPEG or whetever you prefer to standard DVD MPEG ccompliant file. You will need DVD authorig sotfware to create your DVDs.
