  1. Capturing YUY2 from card appears to be interlaced, though if I do a capture at a low resulotion 352 x 288 the "interlacing" is still apparent.

I have tried encoding to MPEG2 and its still there.

Would this be the field order ? If so where is this specified ???

I am using driver 5.39, and vidTools 2.04.15.

  2. UPDATE :

Like duh ! It is interlaced (from height 480 upwards).

I have noticed that if I choose a custom format eg 352 x 360 (both legal settings for YUY2 (width x 16 height x 8) the capture has the lower half a solid green colour (I am using vdub).

Soooo I can cap at 352 x 288 (PAL), but I could cap at FULL 704 x 576 (suffering interlacing).

If the final destination is DVD being played on a TV, do I deinterlace the capture ???

Deinterlace seems to hinder the quest for quality,
blend = end up with blurry footage
remove odd or even = half the size footage (hence resizing to 720x576 would look awful)

    ?????
