I don't understand the question. Do you want to have the record date as a text overlay, or just in the file name. Either way it comes down to the capture software being used and what options it offers. Mine happily puts the date and time into the filename, but I have not seen one that puts the date and time as a text overlay. Mostly this is because those that capture from digital tuners just dump the stream. To add overlay text would require re-encoding, which these cards try to avoid.

    I;m sorry for my question..

Yes, I mean record date as a text overlay on the result video. How you put date and time on file name? will be great to hear some suggestion.

  4. He means the capture program automatically named the file something like:

    2009_7_29_17_36_55.TS

That recording was made on July 29, 2009 at 5:36:55 PM. You can look at the file's creation date in Windows Explorer if your capture program doesn't name files like this.

If you want the timestamp overlaid onto the video, and your capture software doesn't do it automatically, you will have to do it afterward with a video editor.

@jagabo: How I can make it on video editor, if lets say: "Rec on: 31/01/09 17:21:00".

I'm completely blind with video editor, is it any program that could do this automatically.. like I entered the text and that program would just embed it on my video.?

  6. I don't know of any editor that will automatically overlay a timestamp onto the video. You would have to open the video in the editor, add a text overlay, type in the text you want (Rec on: 31/01/09 17:21:00), select the location/duration you want it displayed, then render to a new file. The exact procedure varies depending on which editor you use. What editor you use will depend on what type of video file you have, what type of video file you want, what other features you may want, and what your budget is.

If you really wanted to you could create a short video of the date and time and append the recording to it.
