Ok so I just started using Firefox as my default browser. My only issue right now is that if I want to access my favorites through the start panel they it refers to my IE favorites. So say I'm using Firefox and save a new bookmark. If I try and access that bookmark/favorite later in the day by going to Start-favorites it isn't there, but if I click the Firefox icon and then go to bookmarks it's there. Is there anyway to make the Start menu favorites refer to the firefox bookmarks?

I don't think this is the place for your question. Go to:http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=38

No, there's no easy way to view Firefox bookmarks cascading from the Start menu... that I'm aware of, anyway. You could always clear your IE bookmarks and set up one of the converter programs to automatically import your bookmarks into IE (and even have a Task Scheduler entry set to do it automatically one or more times a day).

However, if you're not opposed to accessing Favorites/Bookmarks from the Taskbar tray, I did a quick search and found this:
    Links2Tray: http://www.wv-be.com/Links2tray.asp

It's supposedly freeware that allows you to access the Favorites and bookmarks from multiple browsers from the tray (read the note about Firefox 3 on the page if you're using FF3 or 3.5). I haven't tried it (not that I want anyone else in the house to have access to my bookmarks... )
