  1. Greetings...Is there anyone out there that has been successfull executing the following steps

    1) Use TMPGEnc v2.5 to create an SVCD/MPEG-2 using the SuperVideoCD (NTSC).mcf template.

    2). Burn w/Nero 5.5.7.2

    3). Play back on a Pioneer DV-440

Steps 1 & 2 seem to work Ok. However when I play the SVCD in my Pioneer DV-440, the Video is extremely messed up and there is no audio. I can play the MPG file back on MS Media Player fine.

I have seen some posts under the Pioneer DV-440 that suggest that some people have had success creating SVCD's and other who have not. I cannot tell whether it is TMPGENC, Nero, or the player that is the problem.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

  2. I have tried a JVC a Samsung a Pioneer and a APEX and found that APEX was better then any other DVD play i have tried for SVCD. JVC and Samsung have problem's with XSVCD while the Pioneer played XSVCD good but had a small lock up very small hard to see but it did freeze up and have a tad of choopy video. The pioneer would not play SVCD at all well the JVC and Samsung played SVCD fine but not XSVCD. So I was getting Dtick of test DVD players then I tried the APEX AD-5131 it played ever kind of SVCD that I have made. And its cheeper then JVC Samsung and Pioneer. Apex was last on my list for a DVD player now it's on the top of my list for DVD player's
