  1. Hi Guys.

I am trying to upload footage from my Sony HDR-X105e to my mac to edit some footage. I am using final cut express. I read in the cameras manual that for information on uploading to a mac to visit the following webpage http://www.guide.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/mac/ms/us - however, this page doesnt load or exist (!!) which is kind of wierd.

The camera connects via USB to the mac, does anyone know the process for uploading? I've tried the technique I use for uploading with other camera equipment but none of it seems to work. I think its because this has a built in hard drive, whereas I am used to working with Mini DV - any help is welcome!

    Thanks in advance!

  2. this is all that is on the sony website -

The high-definition video (HDV) from the camcorder cannot be transferred with the Apple® iMovie® or Final Cut Pro® software.
    Solution

If you are trying to import HDV from the camcorder into one of these software applications, set the i.LINK CONV setting in the camcorder menu to OFF . When the i.LINK CONV setting is enabled, it will convert the recorded HDV signal to a standard digital video (DV) signal and output it as such; this will sometimes cause a blue screen to be displayed in the software window. To capture HDV, the i.LINK CONV setting needs to be turned off.
from what i gather not having a mac, the procedure is connect usb, then turn on cam, allow connection, use fcp import function to navigate to the hd file folder on cam and import.

maybe someone else has more info. this thread should get moved to the mac forum where it might get more views from mac folk.
