Post counts and thread views

Yet another couple of things that have been popping up more frequently.


Post count - one person may have 10 very useful posts, while another person's last 100 posts were in Word Association (you know who I mean). By the same token, there are people with 1000 helpful posts and others with all 10 of their posts being flames/trolling (lordsmurf knows what i'm talking about)



Thread views - These numbers almost never correspond to true popularity or helpfulness of a thread. It could merely be someone playing a very specific game of "Whack-a-mole" with the F5 key. Or the people could, like I often do, get suckered into viewing a thread that is just a complete mess. By that I mean that the OP doesn't know what he wants, the OP won't take the vast amounts of help he's been given, or there may even be a thread-jacker/stalker who signed up just to start crap, so the "views' are simply people watching the tennis match.
To quote my previous post

You may get 10,000 people to see a movie, but they may not all like it (or none of them may like it). In message board land, a massive amount of views is from "stumble upon". They may be interested in the title, or even (ironically) the amount of views, but they are often put off by the actual subject or posts contained inside.
