Hi people. I've just started to get into video encoding. I encoded a DVD to H.264 Mpeg 4 but Real player can't play it. Vlc can but I like to play vid on Real. Is there anyway round this other than decoding to a different format? If so which one is the best out of M-peg 4 (xvid), M-peg(ffmpeg) and what's the difference? I'm using handbrake and these are the options.
Cheers Rich. (media player can play the sound of the H.264 file but no picture, Real u get nothing)

Try install ffdshow and windows media player should be able to play h264...and maybe also real player if it uses directshow decoders.
