  1. I have a Pioneer C503, which I have played VCDs on before, but now any VCDs I burn don't work: I have used Memorex, Maxell, and just generic ones, and none work. I'm using the newest Nero software, encoding appropriately for NTSC, but with no luck. Any suggestions?

Create the MPeG's using TMPGenc (be sure to use 1 of the templates for VideoCD-NTSC if you're avi's are NTSC!).
Authore the MPeG's using VCDwizard or one of the other VCDimager-GUI's and be sure you select VCD1.1 (without PBC = without menu's) or VCD2.0 (with PBC = you must create a Selection-/PlayList (see help inside VCDwizard) in order to be conform with a compliant VCD2.0).
Burn the cue/bin using CDRdao (it's free, all info also inside VCDwizard). I also have a Pioneer standalone DVD-V, I can use any type of CDR for VCD - Pioneer accepts them all without complaining.

sounds like a player problem, does it play the vcd's it did before? You can also take a vcd you create and try it on another player.

  4. Unfortunately, I don't have any of the original VCDs I created, but I'm creating the new ones in the Exact same way as the earlier ones. I think it may be a player problem now.
