I own and have owned an LG LRH - 790 (PvR) for 2 years now ... problem is , the DvD drive has caved (region 4), and i need a new one.( it dosnt spin anymore .. made nasty growling sound for about 2 week before hand)
the questions i have are .. can you buy a new one for it or will any DvD drive work in it? .. better yet will a blue ray work ?..
i cant seem to find any parts referance to it , just people that would be more than happy to sell me a whole new system, but i know it is an easy switch. i ve found out that i can upgrade the HHD very easy ( already a 250 gig though ) , and the DvD drive itself poped out quite well , should be just a matter of switching faces , and a couple of mounting brackets .. so far that i have seen, .. but am worried about board compatablity. as a person that dosnt like to see any electronics thrown out, any help with my conundrum would be appreciated.
