Handbrake has an option to use strict anamorphic rendering... this removes the black bars from the top and bottom of converted vobs when I watch them on my touch hd.
I can't seem to find an alternative to this in ffmpeg? (I have a Linux server which I want to use for encoding).
Would it be just cropping the 62 pixels at the top and bottom of the vob? (I don't think this is right).
I think I've probably mis-understood something!
Any advice would be great.

Googling for "strict anamorphic rendering" returns just your post, so that doesn't help much in figuring out what they mean by that.
