It would help if you provide some information about your computer...like what operating system you are running!

Assuming you are using a windows pc like xp (you really need to fill in your computer specs in your profile) then Ccleaner is a good place to start.
Another good one is PC Decrapifier
Also you can disable programs that start up at system boot with Autoruns.
-edit. I see from your other thread that you are using Vista. These programs work fine with vista.Donadagohvi (Cherokee for "Until we meet again") -
No profile, can't determine what you're running.
RAM is your friend, better than software solutions.
I installed 2GB in a friend's machine, after 256MB, they were surprised!;/ l ,[____], Its a Jeep thing,

have you tried msconfig.exe? it's actually part of Windows...

You need less software, not more, to speed up boot time.

How quickly does it get to the "Windows is starting" bit? Sometimes, the PC does a thorough memory check before Windows even starts. With today's amounts of RAM, it can take a l-o-n-g time. Also, Windows has a "fast detect" mode for booting. If this has been disabled, things take longer.
There are also many things that have to start before you even get to the login page/desktop. The more stuff you have installed such as anti-virus etc, the more that has to load. One thing Vista does is load a bunch of stuff at start up so that you don't have to wait later on.
Something that was driving me up the wall recently was that after logging and launch CPU intensive software, something else was hogging the process. Turns out is was the Windows Media Center updater. It hogged about 50% and slowed down the logging in. Since I have no use for WMC, I disabled this.
You should check your start up options to see exactly what is getting loaded during start up and on a per-user basis. -
There is no such a thing, mostly when a computer takes a long time to load it is loading programs, looking for updates, spywares reporting back and protection checking everything ...
Uninstall anything that you don't use, change update times to a time you don't work much and don't shut down go to standyby between all these it may help but the real answer is you need a quad core running 64 bit XP on Raid it loads faster. -
All ok!
Thanks to everyone that replied to my post. I really appreciate your help.
