Are you using the blu-ray console-profile setting?

yes, I'm using Level 4 in Ripbot and that didn't work.

EDIT: I did a small test with a 480i60 video with stereo sound with the same video settings and it worked so it might be the fact that the PS3 just doesn't like AAC 5.1 tracks.

For some reason when I use ripbot my BD/DVD drives can't read discs while it's rendering video. Is that normal?

Hmmm.....I've tried the following video settings on different videos on my PS3:

    AVC 720p (approx. 8mbps) + AAC 5.1 + MP4 container = ERROR
    AVC 1080p (9mbps) + AAC 2.0 + MP4 container = ERROR

    Then I tried....

    AVC 720p (9mbps) + AAC 2.0 + MP4 container = PLAYABLE

    So possible reasons is...

    - 1080p not stable/supported by PS3....WTF?!?! It should be though.
    - AAC 5.1 not supported by PS3...again, it should be supported though.

    Use this tutorial...

    https://forum.videohelp.com/topic361585.html

Once the file is completed... run convert it again through divx converter

This will reduce the file size to less that 4GB... this will play fine off a dvd, or across a network...

    Hope thats of some use.

  7. Stanstan,

Nice tutorial. I get video that looks great, however the video will only play the audio in 2.0 and not 5.1. There has to be a better solution. If I do a small 5 min test by loading my .m2ts file in ripbot and save as .mp4, the file will play over my network in 5.1 audio. When I do the whole movie with the same exact settings the video will not play on the ps3 over the network. Maybe it is the video and something got corrupted. I will try with a different video and see if it will work for the whole movie.

    Edited:
I just made a .mkv of the full movie in ripbot and then demuxed the .mkv to .m2ts with tsmuxer and the file plays great on the ps3.

I got it to work....so long as the MP4 file stays under 4gb it's fine.
