Of all the formats ot there DVD-r /rw DVD+r /+rw.
is there one which will be compatible with all standalone DVD players. If so what is the point of the other formats.
Am I also right in thinking that all formats only support single layer which would mean for many movies you would still need 2 discs or a double sided disc. Is there any development in progress of a dual layer DVD writer.

DVD-R/RW is the more compatible one but I donīt know if it will be any future for him because HP, SONY,... and other BIG brands are supporting DVD+R/RW. Current DVD-PLayers do not support very well DVD+RW but probably DVD+R will have better luck
There isnīt DVD+R media available yet so we just have to wait...
