I tried plugging my ADVC-100 that I used to use on my PC into my new Macbook Pro to use with Final Cut Pro capturing. I bought a firewire 800 to 4-pin adapter cable but cannot get anything to initialize in FCP. Am I doing something wrong? Does anyone know if this device will or won't work with such an adapter cable? Am I missing a setting in OS X? I'm not sure if there's such a thing as the "device manager" for OS X which would let me see if it's even recognized as hardware. Any help would be much appreciated.
