Do I need to re encode if I want to join avi one to another.
I have 10 files of 70 mb each in avi format. XVID I think. When I use direct stream copy i get a single file of over 3 gig. Can any wise member tell me abut this?
peace

If ten 70 MB files turn out over 3 GB you must not have used Direct Stream Copy. Be sure both audio and video are in Direct Stream Copy mode.

Note that the append operation will automatically append sequentially numbered files. So if your files are named like:

 file01.avi
 file02.avi
 file03.avi
 ...
 file09.avi
 file10.avi

You only need File -> Open Video File file1.avi, then File -> Append AVI Segment file02.avi. file03avi through file10.avi will automatically be appended. You can disable this behavior at the bottom of the file dialog (if you wanted to append them out of order, for example).

	Nice one jagaboo,

I was appending all of the files and this must have been selecting all avi's each time I appended. No wonder such a large file size.
