What do you mean by crop? Like cutting away a part of the video frame like remove black borders? Or just cut, edit the movie?

Hi sorry, I thought cropping was a standard term for the video size/resolution ><
Basically I have received footage where the guy has filmed in 4:3 mode, but it seems the receiver recoreds in widescreen or so.
So it has added in black borders to fill in the space on the left and right. I just want to crop those.

    Thanks.

Tried Windows Movie Maker? Or maybe it's not possible then you can use windows media encoder, the crop setting is under the video size tab. And reconvert to a new wmv.

Hey, I found the setting in WM Encoder. But it's uselss unless I know exactly how much to cut off either side as it does'nt give a graphical grid, you just add in the the values to left and right.
The video is a resolution of 1025x576. Do you know how I can go about measuring how much to crop off either side?

    Thanks.

You could export a frame and use a photo editor that crops graphically end remember the values...

Just a guess, but 4:3 PAL is 720x576 (with usual non-square PAR), whose equivalent resolution is 768x576 (with square par). Widescreen square version of this is 1024x576 (which is 1 pixel off your setting.
I would suggest then that you crop 128 off of each side (129 on 1 side to get rid of that extra pixel).
