I use WMP 11 to serve videos to my PS3. I have a few hundred videos. When I view the video selection menu on my TV screen, the files are not in strict alphabetical order. Words like "A" and "The" are often ignored but not always. For example, a movie entitled "The XYZ" might be sorted under "X" instead if "T". There are other variations of this as well. My question is; Is there a way to Setup WMP 11 / PS3 so that the file names are strictly alphabetized? This reordered sort "help" is very irritating. It's a pain to have to look in more that one place in the file list to find a movie especially since there is no consistency to the sort order "help".

WMP will sort/display the files the same as they would appear in Windows Explorer/file manager which is generally strictly alphabetical based on first character. It may be the way the PS3 is trying to sort. Is there any discernable pattern, such as lower case or capital letters? It may just be a matter of figuring out what it is doing and then naming your files accordingly.

Thanks, I will do some investigating by changing file names, case etc. and see if I can spot a pattern.
