I ripped a movie a little while ago to my computer using HD DVD decrypter and I got an error message, I assumed it was because when I watched the movie there was one part the movie froze at and I had to skip over it. Anyway, I clicked to ignore and it finished the burn, however now whenever I put a DVD in to play the video and sound skip non stop. I tried uninstalling the DVD drive and reinstalling it but it still has the same problem. This drive is only about a month old and worked just fine earlier in the day when I ripped a different DVD. Anyone have any idea what's wrong with it?

So any DVD played in the drive skips ?
What software are you using to view movies ?

Bottom line - ripping or burning a DVD cannot cause a drive to misbehave. If this is happening with all discs, including commercial, pressed DVDs, and different software players, then you simply have a faulty drive and need to have it replaced.
