I have a problem DVD Drive in my PC

Sometimes it recognizes the DVD-Ram video files and lets me see them on the DVD, to copy them

Other times, it loads as an empty DVD Ram disk

    ------------
I am dubbing from a Pana HD-Recorder to DVD Ram

Any Ideas why I cant always see the video files, or how to mount the DVD Ram properly in the PC

    Many thanks

Maybe the dvd recorders makes multisessions dvdrams and windows just read one multisession. You could try isobuster and see if it finds any files when windows doesn't.

    Thanks, but it didnt help

A few discs have shown data, but most dont - I am having to do this because my Pana EDH50 wont burn to a DVD any longer, but will still copy to a DVD-Ram - I am then trying to get the files off the DVD Ram onto a PC, to finalise as a DVD

Odd DVD-Rams have shown up, but most haven't, and I cant work out why - might it be that I need to format the DVD-Ram on the Pana recorder before transferring title?

isobuster recognizes the drive as a dvd ram

    any thoughts

  4. What drive is it? Some require DVD-Ram drivers.

I have this happen with my LG-55L not recognizing discs. I usually have to reload them several times before the drive will accept them. This is probably the worst drive I have ever owned and I'm pretty well fed up with it. It takes a long time to erase the discs as well. My older model LG-4163 does them in 10 seconds while the LG-55L can take a couple minutes. If your drive is older, it might be a failing laser or mechanical problem. Might be time to upgrade to a new drive.

its not old - its a new laptop with a optiarc ad-7530a, although i cant see this mentioned on the optiarc web site

its a bummer really - it clicks away for a few secs, and then doesnt recognize theres adisc loaded - although once or twice it did!

i'm going to ttry formatting the disc in the dvd recorder, before transferrring tracks next time
