Let me get this straight I can convert movie files(avi, divx, etc) to vcd. And then burn this vcd file on a cd-r and play it in my dvd player? Please let me know.

Yes, you can. If you need more information how to do the conversion. On the left hand side, "HOW TO" click on Convert, all the informations are there.
