On my mac, I have successfully converted my MOV file to an MPEG-1 using ffmpegX (VCD ffmpeg preset).
The client I'm sending the mpeg to reports problems when playing the movie on a PC (Mac works fine). Some stuttering and a warning message. Sorry... that's all the details I could pull out of them.
Are there any settings that can be changed in ffmpegX to ensure the mpeg works on a PC? Is there a different preset I should be using?
Be nice to the noob... I appreciate any help/advice I can get!
thanks

Are you burning the files as data or are you trying to follow some sort of format as a guideline? There shouldn't be anything specificly file related to prevent a mpeg1 file from being playable on a PC. I would suspect a software/player/codec issue. Google is your Friend
