    Hi !

Anyway, I got some serious problems and did try many things to do the job but I just can't make it, so I think it's time to get some help.

I'm recording myselfe playing games. Most of them are on emulators because I play old Nintendo or Super Nintendo games using my emulators.
For recording I use FRAPS(www.fraps.com) - and I'm very satasfied with it, but when I record like one minute of my play i get 1.2 gb file.

Ok, then I did downloaded Virtual dub to use it to open those big files and then compress them into smaller files so I can upload my work into youtube.
But problem is that I just can't find good compression option. I find Microsoft 1 compression very good but if I make quality higher , again my 1-2 minute files get like 200 or such mb.
If i lower the scale of quality i get 30-40 mb files ( not so satasfing , shoud be like 6-7-8-9 mb) but quality is awfull , you can't even try to watch it properly.

    So my question is :

If anyone has some experience with using FRAPS and then decompressing files with Virtual Dub, please say me what options shoud i use ( compressor, frame rates, frame keys or something) - if you need more info please say.

    Thank you very much!

DivX, XviD, 3ivx, On2, wmv and h264 can compress much and well.
I'm surprised that you appear to not yet have installed any of them

As YouTube reencodes anyway, just make sure your video doesn't exceed their file size limit (1 GB), and upload. No need to squeeze it anymore, before YouTube mangles it.

How much what? Time? How should I know? It depends on your internet connection. And the load on the YouYube server. Does it matter? Start the upload and go to bed, or play some more or... I mean - you don't have to sit and stare at the progress bar...
But if you're in a hurry, you can always compress with the XviD codec. A couple of minutes should look OK at around 20 MB, I'd guess.

BTW, try with a topic that describes your problem better. I've changed it for you this time.

I was being sarcastic, i pay for my upload so... if i got 10 parts with about 300 mb and i must upload all 10 of them...well ...you understand right.

And Xvid dosen't do the job well, quality is so poor.

WMV might be worth a try too - Can be done with Windows Movie Maker. But I get the feeling you're going to have to compromize somewhere - With file size to get the quality you desire, or with quality, to get the file size you desire.
Have you tried the quantizer mode with XviD? You can pick the quality you want, and have it use whatever file size is needed to achieve that quality. Experiment, and maybe you can find a "sweet spot" that satisfies both size and quality.

What is the resolution of the files that you got from FRAPS?
And were they encoded with lossless compression?
Anyway, XviD @ 320x240 @ 500~700 kbps should be more than adequate
for your game videos --- considering they will quite probably be
    somewhat crappified by YouTube.

As YouTube will resize down to 320x240(?), you should resize down to that size too when you reencode, to allow for lower bitrates (=file sizes). 1016x688 @ 700 kbps XviD will of course not look good.
