  1. Hello,

I put together a DVD from an mpeg file in Adobe Premiere. The mpeg file came from a DVD I made when I transferred the tape to DVD. I ran it through TDA to give me a mpeg file.

I loaded my mpeg file into Elements. I added a audio (music) soundtrack. I exported to DVD. It plays back fine on the computer but has THE WORST problem when either the camera pans or the subject moves when played back on my TV. I'm not sure what to call this. I think it's called 'jittery'. Like multiple images. The DVD from which I extracted the mpeg file from does not do this. This is happening in the rendering process in Elements.

I've used Elements for DV files and I've never had this problem. Are there some settings I'm supposed to tweak. Please help if you can. This is supposed to go to the in-laws tonight.

Never mind - I found the solution here. Merry Christmas!

The difference is that you are working with MPEG. You can't get as good of quality editing and re-encoding mpeg, as you can by editing dv-avi, and then encoding. You may want to look into Womble MPEG editor, and see if it helps. Adobe is good software, but it wasn't meant to edit MPEG.

  3. Thanks, harley. I was able to finish my project in time for Christmas Eve. I posted the solution above. While there may have been some perceptible difference, it was fine.

I usually use TDA for my mpeg projects but liked the luxury of being able to add an audio track and adjusting it for various parts of the video.

Thanks for replying, I appreciate it.
