  1. Does the quality of the CD-R that you burn too, affect the quality of the final video when it is played on a dvd player in any way??
    Thank You!

  2. I think the quality of your Cd-R will effect the vcd if it will PLay OR NOT in your stand alone player . usally low grade cd-r's cant be played on VCD players or jus screws up entirely. but they can still be played.

for quality wise i think its all in the Video, video Encodeing, and software you use man.

  4. I agree with Timmy. Because the video is digital, it either plays or not. If the quality of the CD does effect the video, it is not seen as poor quality video, but as large green blocks (on my player at least) stutters, or just plain locking up or not playing. I've had CD's that caused those types of problems, but the video was good until it hit a bad spot.

Think of it like reading a book. The text has the same exact meaning weather it is printed on a cheep paperback or a finely bound hard back with glossy paper. Only if a page is missing or stuck together does it become unreadable and the meaning is lost. When that happens, you know it very easily.

Also, if the English or grammer of the book are poor, the quality of the book will also be bad with either type of paper.

So, if your video looks bad - check the "grammer" of the video - your source and encoding quality.
