I want to backup my AVCHD video files. I want to put them on DVD-R discs (sets). I have NERO 8 BackitUp. What is the best method and procedure to get this done right?Of course, if you use one program, it (or its format) may be obsolete in 9 years from now and you can't retrieve the data/video when you want it again. Soooo??????? I don't want to rely on external drives to make backups of my home movies. Maybe, Double Layer 2.4X-6X 8.5GB DVD+R DL Media, w/zero (0) compression ??????
Thanks.

Yeah. Read the forum rules and wait at least 24 hours before bumping your own post. It's only polite.Originally Posted by AVCHD

If you must use DL discs, use only Singapore manufactured Verbatim +R DL discs. If you are going to use anything esle you might as well just delete your files instead for all the good it will do. Burn with Imgburn in Build mode. Nero is a poor DL burning application.Read my blog here.

Split your files into ~4 GB chunks and burn them in "DVD-ROM (ISO)" format in Nero Burning ROM. The format will be readable (aside from media failure) for the foreseeable future.
